Harrison's Blog: International School Football Tournament
HARRISONS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FOOTBALL TOURNEMENT
people in team: 6
venue: big gym in the school.
First, I started doing warm ups. For the warm ups we got in a circle and passed the ball around to each other.
Next, we started our first match. I was a defender and we won the first one. Then, we watched a match and it was very fun. After that, we played again and I was a defender, and this is basically what we did until our 3rd match.
In our 3rd match, I was goalkeeper for the 1st time! It started pretty hard but then I did a lot of practice and I got way better.
You also have to wear goalkeeper gloves to be a goalkeeper, and to get better grip on the ball because the goalkeeper is the only one that can touch the ball with their hands.
After our 3rd match we ate a little snack and we also played around.
Soon after, we discussed what teams will play in the finals!
When the end whistle was blown on the fourth match, it was a tie between NIS which is my school and CIS. We had to do a penalty shoot out which is very rare to happen. A penalty shoot out is when there is a tie between two teams. First, they make a single file line. Then, the teams take turns trying to score. The goalkeepers from both of the teams take turns trying to block the ball. And whoever scores the most points after the whole team has shot wins!
During the shoot out, I was the goalkeeper and it was very scary to do 😳 Every one was cheering for either NIS or CIS and it was a big distraction to my big brain 🧠 I still was able to block 2 goals and I also missed a couple though. It was kind of overwhelming to miss some 😥. But it was still very fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😃
The end!
