BASKET BALL GAME 11.3.2024

For basket ball we went to Rygaards school. Some of us were stuck on the train and the others were not. But we all made it off safe. 

The NIS basketball players! (Years 2-4, I think)

I played about 3 games and my team played 5 or 6. Some of the kids were bigger than us. We ate lunch upstairs.


We didn't play real basket ball though. 

We didn't play real rules so they were able to run with the ball and dribble any amount of time.



Then we played in the playground while my teacher went in their new gym with my other teacher Josh.

We played Minecraft and lego Fortnite and other things.


P.E. DAY!!!!!!!!

Today in P.E we played...floor ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. (My teacher called it cricket but it was not cricket.( In floor ball I was team leader and goalkeeper. It was unfair because Nikolas scored with his foot. But we got 1 point and they lost 1 point. We got a point because we were spreading out and we weren't holding our wickets in the air or flying the ball up. The other team wasn't working as a team. They were passing to a singular person.

We did it! We bought a house in Denmark. It's all ours! And, oh man, has this been a wild ride! There's a short version and a long version, so I'll write the super-abbreviated version first, and if you want to come along for that aforementioned wild ride, you can keep going beyond the summary! The Barber Visitors, 2025 (and Our Summer Holiday)

I can't express how much we love visitors. We love seeing familiar faces, and we love sharing this amazing country with the people we love. This June, we got not one, but  two  sets of Barber visitors! First, Nate and Maggie arrived mid-June. We picked them up the same day that we sent Harrison off on his school trip, so we actually had a couple of kidless days to hang out. The first evening was very casual. We went for a walk through the forest near our house and out to the lake. The baby swans were out with their parents! On Day 2, we walked Nyhavn to Amalienborg (the royal residence), cruised Kastellet, saw the Marble Church, ate at Gasoline Grill, walked to Broen and got Aperol Spritzes, wandered Christiania, took a canal boat tour, and ate dinner at Pico Pizza before heading home. Here Comes the Sun!

It's so nice outside!! Even Kaden remarked how much better and happier the sunshine makes you feel. There have been some signs of spring for a couple of weeks now: little vintergækker  (snowdrops) are springing up everywhere, trees and bushes are starting to leaf out, and the sun is blinding us almost daily. I've resumed my bike rides to work (on days I don't have to show up early for lab work), Zac is jogging in the afternoons, and Harrison is busy outside quite often. Even this precious cat is back to her sunny-day adventures! Zac got the windows all clean and clear, so the light really comes in nicely all day long. Yay for spring! * * * Danish classes are coming along. We are approaching the end of Module 3.4 (only one more to go after that!) - we take our exam at the end of May. We discuss equality, danish culture, music, family dynamics, and all kinds of other topics as we develop our language skills. It helps round out our vocabulary and speak conversationally. Unfort...
