Khloe's Post (#3)

A long long time ago when I went ice skating...

It was the cool breeze that morning when I realized that today was going to be a good day (I do not remember what day exactly), but it was good. I walked over to my usual bus stop to school, running into my friend Suhasni on the way. We talked until we had arrived at school, and when we did my friends ca,e dashing towards me. My friend Bruna said I looked like a school girl because I dressed in leggings with a grey pleaded skirt along with a long sleeved black shirt. She mocked me the entire day for that!

We then met up with teachers and the other class (8iy) and walked to the bus stop. Once on the bus, which was SUPER crowded, we got off at Kokkedal Station and got on a DOUBLE DECKER train! I was super excited to finally ride on one of them. And when I boarded with my friends we immediately sprinted to the top half of the train. We didn't get a four seater, so we broke off into groups of two to sit down, and it felt like we were on an airplane! (besides the windows) We had little fold down tables, pretty big seats, and lots of leg room. I heard someone say it was a first class, but it seems nobody cared.

We arrived at the centre of Copenhagen and our class gathered in (the centre) a big rounded field with a statue of a guy on a horse. Didn't know his name though. Our home teachers (the chaperones) told us that we could go explore the city a bit for 26 minutes which was super cool! My friends and I wanted to go to a coffee shop, but as an almost thirteen year old child who has an allowance of 60kroner a week I was NOT going to buy a 70 kroner iced coffee... NUH UH. So as my friends bought muffins, I stepped outside to talk to my other friends. I was trying to convince them to go to 7eleven with me and two other girls, and eventually they said yes. Our goal was to buy two large slushies because they are super cheap, but all they had was coffee...tisk tisk.

My timer I had set on my phone went off right after we bought some energy drinks. IN which I shared, but everyone was going off about how crazy it was to drink a Red Bull. EVEN THOUGH I MADE IT VERY CLEAR I WAS SHARING. It was very annoying, and then the next few days those same people show up with giant Monster energy drinks, like what? Anyways, we gathered again in the middle, and took lots of pictures with our friends. Once the last people joined in the centre, we had to cross this terrifying bridge that crossed over this huge canal. I sprinted (speed walked) across the bridge with my unwilling friend, and waited for the rest of the group at the end. From there we could see the outdoor ice skating rink.

We headed over and dropped our bags on our desired benches, and at times it was gloomy, but mostly sunny and windy. We then went and collected our proper ice skates and put them on. There were seals that you had to rent out, so you could push people on them or push yourself in a way (a support seal kind of). Some people didn't know how to skate so I was relieved that I wouldn't be the only bad skater. I mean, I CAN skate, but not very fast, unless I'm pushing someone. Ice skating was super fun though, and I only fell once which was good, but then this guy William tried helping me up which was fine until two other girls tried and then I just couldn't so I made two of them slip (not fall) but that was super embarrassing because I always blame my size, because they aren't grown yet, so ya.

My home teacher called everyone off the ice and then we all ate lunch, but while we were skating it started to rain (Denmark weather), so there was a blanket of water sitting on top of the ice. Point is, our bags were pretty wet, which sucked, bt our teachers moved them out of the rain at some point, which I'm very thankful of. We ate lunch on crowded benches, because at this time there were more people showing up to skate and eat at the surrounding food places.

WE then walked back to the station and some people went home because it was the end of the school day, and while everyone did that I had to wait at school for football to start.

Overall, it was a super awesome day full of bonding and having fun along with exploring, and I'm so excited to go on more trips later on in the year.
